Duncan Macgill

It's a role that suits his background. Duncan trained as a Chartered Accountant before moving into financial planning, giving him a rare perspective that bridges technical rigour with client-focused thinking. He joined UNICA in 2017 and now oversees the firm's day-to-day operations - from resourcing and processes to the systems that keep everything running smoothly.

Our clients become part of our extended family. We know their goals, their children, their concerns - and we're in this for the long haul together.

What drives him is seeing the results of collective effort: advisers and support staff working together to deliver outcomes that genuinely improve clients' lives. He's equally motivated by watching his colleagues grow, helping them develop in their roles and contribute to something larger than themselves.

Outside the office, Duncan takes a hands-on approach to everything. He's an avid cyclist, enjoys sailing and bushwalking, and spends time in his shed woodworking. Most weekends, you'll find him with his family - often somewhere on a Tasmanian trail.
